Like most of the buildings on the Winterset square, the Heartland Fiber building is rich in history and local lore.
As you can see from the three windows facing east above the Heartland Fiber sign, there’s a second story that spans the length of the building. In the years since it was built in the mid 1800s, the upstairs has been used for offices, apartments, storage, and more. And now, with the help of Amy’s son Jack Sawyers and crew, work has been done to restore the space while preserving the original glass and woodwork.
Gathering Space for Rent
The great front room upstairs is available to rent for parties, gatherings, and meetings. It can be set with tables and chairs to your specifications, and rental includes the use of the upstairs kitchenette (refrigerator included) and bathroom. The cost is $60 for up to four hours, or $100 for four to twelve hours.
There are two beautiful offices, both of which receive natural sunlight and make use of restored elements of the original space. The occupants of both offices have access to the commons area, the kitchenette, and the bathrooms, one of which has a shower. (Both of these spaces are currently rented.)
Please contact Amy to reserve your space, and ask us anytime if you’d like a tour of “Upstairs at the Heartland Building.”
